WARRANTY TERMS AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANICURE NAIL DRILLS
First of all, we would like to draw your attention to an important fact: manicure devices, their accessories, dust collectors, LED manicure lamps and other equipment offered for sale cannot be returned or exchanged, as they fall into the category of technically complex products.
Under the law, such products cannot be returned or exchanged simply because you are dissatisfied with their appearance (shape, colour) or have changed your mind.
However, if a nail drill malfunctions, the applicable warranty service conditions apply. Please note: NO replacement device will be provided during repairs.
Warranty terms for electric manicure nail drills:
• All electric manicure nail drills are covered by a 12-month warranty, except for "EXO" nail drill models, which are covered by a 3-month warranty.
• All electric manicure nail drills are intended for commercial use unless otherwise stated.
• Electric nail drill handpieces MUST be maintained and cleaned regularly. Cleaning and regular maintenance of the handpiece are the BUYER'S responsibility.
• When a handpiece is brought to our technicians for cleaning, a standard cleaning fee of EUR 39 applies.Cases not covered by the warranty for electric manicure nail drills:
• Attention! Do not switch between FWD/REV modes without switching off the device's power supply! Failure to follow this rule may cause the device to malfunction. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.
• Bearings and brushes inside the handpiece are replaced for an additional fee, as they are subject to wear and tear. The warranty does not cover components subject to normal wear.
• Failure to comply with the operating conditions of the device resulting in malfunction, including a faulty extension cord to which the device was connected, exceeding the permitted continuous operating time, or using components not included with the device.
• Evidence that the device has been opened or repaired without authorisation, unless such work was previously carried out as part of an authorised warranty repair.
• Mechanical damage caused by careless use or deliberate actions of the user, including liquid spills, dropping the device from a height, or excessive dust and dirt accumulation on the device.
• Damage caused by natural disasters or human-related incidents, including fires, floods, hurricanes and similar events.
• Damage caused by fluctuations in the electrical mains voltage. For example, the instructions specify that the handpiece must be maintained regularly. Therefore, failure to clean the nail drill handpiece regularly may result in a malfunction, and any necessary repairs will be carried out at your expense.
Please note that store managers do not perform fault diagnostics, repairs or other servicing work. The store manager is responsible only for accepting products for warranty repair and communicating with the customer regarding the process. The nature of the malfunction, the repair procedure and other technical matters are determined by a service centre technician.
How should electric manicure nail drills be maintained correctly?
1. First – do not attempt to disassemble the nail drill handpiece motor yourself.
Doing so not only voids the warranty but, more importantly, poses a risk to your safety. There is a relatively powerful spring inside the mechanism. If the motor is disassembled incorrectly, its components may be released at high speed in different directions. This is clearly unsafe.2. Second – what should you do if a new device does not switch on?
2.1. At the factory, switches are often left in an intermediate position. Move each switch back and forth 2–3 times.
2.2. When operating without a foot pedal, check that the HAND/FOOT switch is set to HAND (the factory setting may be FOOT).
2.3. Disconnect and reconnect the handpiece plug, ensuring that it is fully inserted into the device's control unit.
2.4. Gradually increase the rotational speed of the drill bit. Never increase the speed suddenly. Speed adjustments must be made slowly.
2.5. Try connecting the device to a different electrical socket, as the socket currently being used may be faulty.3. Third – some common mistakes when maintaining electric manicure nail drills:
3.1. The handpiece is making a humming noise. Never attempt to repair or clean the handpiece motor yourself (including disassembling it or lubricating the bearings), as this may render the handpiece unusable.
Explanation: The handpiece contains dry friction bearings. These must not be lubricated. If dust has been removed from inside the handpiece but the humming continues, or if the handpiece becomes very hot, the bearings need to be replaced.
Solution: Contact the seller and arrange a handpiece cleaning and bearing replacement service.3.2. The handpiece is heavily contaminated with dust and dirt. Never attempt to wash the handpiece, clean it with wet cloths or immerse it in water.
Explanation: All handpiece components (except the plastic housing) are sensitive to water and moisture. Protect the handpiece from moisture. Do not allow liquids to enter the handpiece, as this may cause irreparable damage. Liquid damage is not covered by the warranty. Compressed inert gas is intended for cleaning the nail drill and can be used without disassembling the handpiece. How should electric manicure nail drills be operated correctly?
Simple rules that will help extend the service life of your electric manicure nail drill:
First – unplug the device from the electrical socket when it is not in use.
This simple rule applies to virtually all electrical appliances. If you are not using the device, unplug it. If the plug remains connected to the socket, the transformer inside the housing may continue to receive power (if you forget to turn off the switch). This shortens its service life.Second – do not operate the handpiece without a drill bit.
Do not switch on the handpiece without an inserted drill bit or the protective shaft supplied with the handpiece. If the handpiece is operated without a bit, the collet mechanism may jam, requiring non-warranty servicing. This creates a load on the rotor, which may fail as a result. In the best-case scenario, the rotor will need to be replaced; in the worst-case scenario, the entire handpiece will need replacement. This is not covered by the warranty.Third – changing the forward/reverse rotation direction.
If you need to change the direction of rotation, gradually reduce the speed to zero (until the drill bit in the handpiece has come to a complete stop), then switch the rotation direction. Reversing the direction before the bit has stopped completely may cause the bit to break or the collet mechanism to jam.Fourth – select the correct drill bit speed.
Exceeding the maximum permitted operating speed of a drill bit may cause the bit to bend, resulting in strong vibration of the handpiece and potentially rendering it inoperable.
This chart applies to all types of nail drill handpiece bits:
Cleaning the nail drill handpiece
Regular cleaning of the nail drill handpiece extends the service life of the device.
There are cases where nail drills used by professionals continue operating for 7–9 years simply because their handpieces are cleaned regularly every month and the bearings are replaced when necessary (approximately every six months). Why is this important? Dust generated during manicure procedures penetrates into the handpiece and clogs its internal mechanisms. This increases wear on moving parts, causes the device to overheat and accelerates bearing wear.
Where can nail drill handpieces be cleaned?
At the seller's service centre or at large certified electrical appliance repair centres.
• Handpiece cleaning at the seller's service centre: up to 14 working days. The device must be delivered to our Vilnius office. You can find the address on our website in the Contact section: https://www.salonams.eu/kontaktai. Price: EUR 39.
• Handpiece cleaning at other certified service centres: please contact the selected service centre for information about service times and prices.
How often should the nail drill handpiece be cleaned?
As always, this depends on individual circumstances, the type of procedures performed and the workload. On average, when a device is used in a salon and the technician serves 4–6 clients per day, the handpiece should be professionally cleaned once every six months and cleaned using compressed inert gas weekly or monthly. If the handpiece starts overheating, vibrating or making unusual noises before six months have passed, professional cleaning should be arranged sooner.Dropping or striking the nail drill handpiece
A strong impact or dropping the handpiece onto a hard floor will almost certainly damage it. In such cases, the handpiece must be taken for non-warranty servicing.
